Build a real 4G phone and make your first call! Pop in a nano-SIM, then text, play retro games and listen to music. MAKERphone 2.0 shows you how a phone works inside, and VibeBoy helps you code your own apps with AI, Python or C++.

MAKERband

Build your own smartwatch with a 0.96-inch color display. MAKERband pairs with MAKERphone 2.0 over Bluetooth to show notifications, control your music and trigger the camera shutter. Then design your own watch faces and mini-games with VibeBoy.

Camera

Turn your MAKERphone 2.0 into a retro-style camera! Slide in the Camera module, snap photos and flip through them in the phone's built-in photo gallery. Every shot has that charming, pixel-era look.

Big Speaker

Need more volume? The Big Speaker module gives your MAKERphone 2.0 a 3 W speaker for music and games that fill the room. Play your favorite tracks from the built-in music player, loud and proud.

Flashlight

Light up the dark with a super-bright LED array. The Flashlight module turns your MAKERphone 2.0 into a handy torch for camping trips, power cuts and late-night searches under the bed.

Environment

Is it hot in here, or is it just you? The Environment module measures temperature and humidity, so your MAKERphone 2.0 can tell you exactly how comfortable your room really is.

Infrared

Take control of the living room! The Infrared module turns your MAKERphone 2.0 into a remote for your TV, air conditioner and other infrared devices. Change the channel without leaving the couch.

DIY Perf Board

Invent a module nobody else has! The DIY Perf Board lets you solder your own circuits and sensors, plug them into your MAKERphone 2.0 and program them. It's where makers become true inventors.

LoRa

Text another MAKERphone with no SIM card, no Wi-Fi and no cell towers. The LoRa module lets two phones talk straight to each other, made for campsites, beaches and open trails. The clearer the view between you, the farther it reaches.

Gyroscope

Feel every tilt and turn! The Gyroscope module lets you steer racing games just by leaning your MAKERphone 2.0. Tilt to steer, shake to roll, or use it as a spirit level. You're the controller now.

GPS

Map your bike ride, hill by hill. The GPS module lets your MAKERphone 2.0 know exactly where it is on the planet. Go geocaching, record your routes and never lose the trail.

Jam

Clip twelve bananas to the Jam module and play them like a piano, or turn a set of spoons into a drum kit! It's the most fun you'll ever have learning how electricity flows through everyday things.

Sub-Screen

A second screen that never sleeps. The Sub-Screen uses e-paper, so it holds its picture with zero power. Show a name tag, a to-do list or a QR code on the back of your MAKERphone 2.0.

Rumble

Feel the game! The Rumble module adds a whole library of vibration effects to your MAKERphone 2.0, from soft clicks to a heartbeat. Feel every crash in your games and get alerts you can't miss, even on silent.

Compass

Always know where north is. The Compass module turns your MAKERphone 2.0 into a digital compass for hikes, camping trips and treasure hunts.

Pixels

Eight little lights, any color you like. Wave your MAKERphone 2.0 through a dark room with the Pixels module and write your name in the air. Light painting, right from your pocket.

Laser

Turn your MAKERphone 2.0 into a laser pointer for presentations, school projects and showing off. Just remember the golden rule: never point it at eyes, people or pets.

QWERTY Module

Missed real keys? Fold out a full QWERTY keyboard and type with your thumbs instead of tapping the number pad letter by letter. It turns your MAKERphone 2.0 sideways into a tiny laptop, needs no charging, and adds room for a second module.

MAKERphone 2.0, MAKERband, the Expansion Module Pack (6 modules), the Pro Module Pack (9 modules) and the QWERTY Module. That's two DIY builds, all 15 modules and a fold-out keyboard in one box.

Recommended for ages 9+. Younger makers may need a hand with small parts during the builds.

You'll see how phones and wearables work from the inside: the cellular radio, Bluetooth, displays, batteries and sensors. The modules add long-range radio (LoRa), satellite positioning (GPS), motion sensing and more. Then you'll code your own apps, starting with AI-assisted VibeBoy and moving on to MicroPython and Arduino C++.

MAKERphone 2.0 takes about two hours to build and MAKERband about 30 minutes. The modules need no building: slide one in and its app appears. The only exception is the DIY Perf Board, where you solder your own circuit.

No. Both builds are made for first-timers, with step-by-step instructions and no soldering. The one exception is the DIY Perf Board module, which is made for soldering your own circuits when you're ready.

For calls and texts, yes: a standard nano-SIM from any carrier, on any plan (prepaid works too). Without one, MAKERphone still plays games and music, runs modules and connects to Wi-Fi. With two LoRa modules, two MAKERphones can even text each other with no SIM at all.
