Number of kids: 6-8 is ideal. 10 is the maximum with two adults

What Predictably Goes Wrong (and the Fix)

Two kids finish in 20 minutes; two are still on step four at the end. This is guaranteed, not a risk. The fix is a job for finishers: they become assistants, with a title. Fast builders love authority and slow builders accept help from a peer more easily than from an adult.
