STEM Box update #1 — Jay-D’s PCBs are almost done

2 minute read

Hey everyone,

STEM Box started as a Kickstarter project, and I was updating our supporters on our progress, mainly using the Kickstarter updates section of the campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/albertgajsak/circuitmess-stem-box/posts

Since we’re selling STEM Box as a subscription on our web page now, I’ll post further project updates on our Medium page here.

So, here’s a short update on what’s been going on with Jay-D’s production.

We’ve experienced delays with component deliveries from most of our semiconductor suppliers due to the semiconductor market crisis. We’ve received all the components needed for PCB assembly early this week.

Jay-D’s PCBs are currently in production, and we’ll have the full quantity assembled by Monday.

We plan to ship out all of your Jay-Ds (1500 packages in total) in the next 10 days. +

You will start receiving tracking numbers as we send them out on a rolling basis.

Here is a short video from the factory that is assembling Jay-D’s PCBs here in Croatia. The machine in the video is called a “pick and place” machine; it’s used for placing and then soldering the small electronic components such as microchips onto the circuit boards.

I understand how bad all of you want your Jay-D’s, but rest assured that we’re doing everything we can to get them delivered to your door ASAP and to prevent such delays from happening in the future.

Thank you for your patience, and stay tuned for future updates.

- Albert and the rest of the CircuitMess team
